Nice to be back again (see below). There has been a little gap for me, but I am catching up. Yeah - Angelica and Musse better not join "forces" together, because the result could be devastating (for both Rean and the girls). Angie seeing Tita... Yeah - We already knew how that would go even before she complete got frozen in place. Angie - Never change girl... 😋 So - Musse and Ash are at least on some level. I wonder how much Ash has "seen". But it's for sure the "new" Class VII is not going to back down, and will going to do what their Instructor wanted to keep them from. Nightlife of Raquel - Here we come... About being back again. I let you know the surgery went well, but it turned out to be a bigger thing than originally anticipated. They had to add a mat for support, and the wound would have to be opened even further. Lucky enough the techniques are really advanced here, so even after being in the operation room for a hour and and half I was enough recovered later that day, that I could leave hospital and going home. It was a bit painful the past day's (but very well manageable), and I feel well enough now to "be back" here. One thing I can say though... I would never ever recommend to turning this into a hobby... 🤪

gosh, that one of the parts that is just aggravation for me. there are so many obvious "evil" people. but no one ever tries to to something about it. only Perrielle in diplomatic manner, which jut does not work, since "evil" people will obviously never agree. i just can't see a world, in which guys like Harlan don't have weird "accidents" on the street or something. and whats gonna happen? Dux already is invading with some pretense, which everybody involved know they are fake... maybe its just the writing? just for the player/audience, and the ingame characters are not suppose to know that so clearly? the game really wants to make sure everyone, even a toddler, understand whats going on. (this also shows in riddle explanations, telling your at every step multiple times what to do, making so so sure everyone understands them)

i love it so much, how our recruitment "detective" in this game does not have an artificial timer bound to it (especially since this game does otherwise wastes to much of your time), which made me wonder why you did not just spam though all hints at once thou.

Lians pshoo paired with comic like spinning leg running animation?... i mean thats an old cartoon trope. yay mystic lumber... time to stand around for hours, picking up the every 5 minute respawning wood... thats what i did... got out of the forest, got Kerrin in my group, to double wood pick up income (why don't you have any supporter in your group? its a free space...) run back here, standing around for an hour/until the bag was full, watching youtube, clicking into the game once every 5 minutes to pick up the respawned wood... yay what a stunning gameplay that base building is... ^^ yay chests in fights. i mean its not the worst mechanic, and opening them always being last action could make some sort of sense. you dont want an enemy attack you, while fumbling with that lock. but the chest being "gone" if you kill everything is artificial failing... i just let everyone open the chest in battle, just to be sure. and if it gets opened by the first person, the rest just does its auto attack anyway.

ah yes the shield mechanic. i know the game explains it once, but its still not enough. fist attacks and magic straight up ignore the shield. blunt attacks weaken it. and everything else just gets a flat amount of damage penalty, depending on wich quality (C , A, S rank) it is...

oh noe, how will we get into the forest.... i dunno, walk around the rock? nah, it must be done with magic ^^ that boss was such an unfair trap... naturally countering *every* physical attack without warning... i mean, player characters and normal enemies can have a counter stance (as defense action), but this does not work 100%, and is pronounced because defending is always first in turn paired with a blue glow... also attacking a revived character seems just wrong... in a combat system where you chose all actions first, (aka chose the target to attack at the beginning of the round), and should not be able to target a downed character... this plant just cheated hard. im glad i had Wyler + Marin in my team, just a small hp recover every round was better then nothing. but hey, at least this boss is technically a normal trash mob and can be stunned... or instakilled (what a cheese=), since it is just a trashmob, of the later game thou. kinda sad how fixated you are on your group thou. (keeping Mio who kinda sucks in combat, just for her maybe bossfight cheese? c'mon) one thing the game does worse, but therefore actually better than the Suikoden series is, how ineffective weapon smith improvement is. the numbers barely go up, but this also means that new characters are not useless just because their initial weapon level is lower than yours. (looking at you Suikoden 5) and its very cheap compared to Suikoden.

screw that minigame... the introduction is such a mess... "here is the game, have fun playing it... oh btw, its impossible to win for the next 5 or 10 hours, since you are powercreeped from the beginning and are fully dependent on random world drops to get better spinner.... but hey, its such a great game............" but the worst part about it is, how Nowa goes full bayblade mode with that game... something something spiritual power, feelings, justice,... whatever stuff...^^

welcome to the worst minigame in gaming history... okay, the mingame itself is maybe a 3/10,... but everything around it is a -5/10...

gosh i hate the duel system in this game. i would love to have the basic stone scissors paper duels of Suikoden. but here you have just scissors, rubber stone, and sometimes scissors-proved paper... so your best bet at the end will be attack attack attack super attack attack attack... i won boss duels by just pressing A (confirm), after trying tactical playing that just loses, because blocking does not help against damage, you will just lose the damage race into scripted super attack. the castle names are funny. weird fact, i took the name hall of heroes (but in German), because its the game about many many heroes... and when i change the games language to english (to get reference names for skills and stuff, since all you find online is in english), my castle name is Orange castle... despite there is the eng version for hall of heroes. i wonder if the Suikoden 2 reference name Orange castle is the default name.

Somehow Marquis Ballad in retrospect is one of my favorite NPCs in CS games. Yay, Jusis on the horse!

yea you were way to strong. she was there before the mine, basically the first character you could find. besides Iugo which you don't have here yet either. (both are in the first city when you start recruiting... how were you able to miss them both?...^^) i actually got Iugo, and then right Mellore. i went to the dungeon and fought the mole with a group of 5, since i just followed Mellore here, without checking the other towns first (no one told me it would be a long dungeon with a slightly overtuned boss that works on a luck gimmick...) what a chore this fight was. oh and you missed Francescas buff (which does enhance her normal attack...) what a waste...

I'm with Ash on this one - that tick needed to die as quickly as possible. However, it did get me thinking... Considering there don't seem to be any land animals in that region that are large enough to provide sustenance to a massive parasitic arthropod, I'm going to have to assume it's an aquatic variety. What in Aidios' name was that thing feeding on? Perhaps something similar to an Oceanus from Dana's era? Zemuria's oceans must be terrifying!

I wonder who those new Jaegers are ? Maybe similar to ones we fought in the past I guess we find out later.

oh, i took the Munchhausen answer, since its obviously a Suikoden reference to the ridiculous over the top Schtolteheim Reinbach III name. and they actually react to it different. being kinda intimidated by such a noble name. also at the end of it when Lian calls Nowas name Kogen actually asks: "who is Nowa?"... they totally took this Munchhausen answer for real.

It great see my favorite male character from OC7 again Jusis with his new noble lord drip.

watching this and i expected rean to be a higher level like around level 40 already. at this point, it felt to me that musse was hiding something but i couldn't put my finger on it. with ash i couldn't figure him out until later in the game (can't go more into it without spoilers) you can also tell altina is growing and starting to care for kurt and juna due to the first day of this field exercise. Juna is trusting everyone more too. Kurt is getting better and learning quite a bit too. Also this is just me but try to use musse when you can again (can't remember if you did) and get a feel for her. also i can't wait to see how you react to so much stuff. last thing, if you want a tip about fishing that helps with catching one during the 2nd part of the mini-game let me know. keep up the good work and sorry for the long comment.

Man that visit to Musse's house was hilarious, her family already taking Rean as family, now that she can use her S-craft, it's a very good asset to your party in case you want to use arts, her ATS is crazy, and as you could notice, this is a very good spot to get some nice Action 3 quartz and save the job of getting them by farming sepith

Welcome to Ordis. This is really a nice town. Lots of stuff going to happen her of course, because it's a field exercise. And we all know it's no field exercise without something big is going to happen. For now enjoy the rest and calm before all hell breaks loose... 😁 A short side note: I will probably not respond for a few day's. The reason is not serious, but I probably have some difficulty reacting for a short while. Next Thursday I get some surgery to correct a umbilical hernia that has gotten a bit too big. As said - It's not that big of a deal, but I have to prepare some stuff (insurance, travel and that kind of things), and will be a bit less mobile afterwards. Getting that pure and dry Saltpeter is the biggest hurdle. So - Going to meet Bardias at the Juno Naval Fortress? That same fortress that we saw in the prologue? At least that means there will be some "trouble" in the future there, right? And Bardias is the right hand of Aurelia, so that's another power house for sure. Time to move into that fortress I guess...

Well - Untill Rufus popped out as one of the Ironbloods of course. Musse... What the hell have you written? Seeing her going "innocent" plucking her hair, paired with that smug look she gave... I have a feeling that this does not bode well... Valerie won't feel easy that the main campus (with that unfriendly prince) is going to visit her homeland to do whatever the hell they want to do. I guess she feels the same as Juna felt for Crossbell, although the situation is far different there. Hmm... I wonder if we will learn more about Ash. He is not very open about his mother (although he's not secretive or something). I wonder why. Who is "she" Major Michael Is mumbling about? Yeah - Lots of questions... Again...

Naise work and congratulations on beating my favorite game and favorite boss of the series. As a person who always play these games on the hardest difficulty and deathless (this game included), I can confidently say that this final boss is defiantly the hardest, and I enjoy sharing all the mechanics that it does cause it is absolute bullshit. Boss mechanic SPOILER BELOW!!! Phase 1 is pretty simple, defeat the boss before it can absorb the adds. The adds have 2 layers of max guard and arts reflect. You will always hit max guard before the reflect. The boss CAN absorb the adds early if the max guard goes down, but it WILL absorb them once it does the dad's hp is low or the boss dies. When the boss dies, he will absorb all remaining adds, and heals (rewind time) 25% hp per add and will resummon them next turn. If you manage to destroy adds before rewind, they are just gone. The boss itself isn't very scary just the mechanic that you need to figure out. The best way to do this is destroy max guard from the adds and 1 shot them or kill the boss and kill the boss again before he summons the adds again ... As for phase 2, it is very BS, and I'm very glad you didn't suffer at the hands of the boss (litterally), First let's go over the adds, as you can see, they can take 50 cp from a character and apply 3 layers of max guard when low hp. The boss will summon all 4 of them back when ALL of them is destroyed so it's best to leave 1 alive . What makes them scary is that they have are a hive mind. They Will go after the lowest hp character in range meaning your lowest hp character will normally get attacked by all 4 of them at the same time (which is why your Lloyd didn't get attacked by them like almost at all). In nightmare, all 4 of them together will do enough damage to half health most mages ... As for the boss itself ... the boss has some anti-cheese mechanics built in. As you can see, if it sees you casting, it Will cancel your cast and apply 5 turns of mute and seal in a small AoE (you can abuse this by turn locking him by having mute resist and continiously casting so he keeps canceling which is what you did, and this works until 50% hp), now for the things you didn't see, if he sees a certain amount of buffs on your characters (pretty sure is 2 buffs on a character or more) including max guards, he will push every character to the back of the arena and remove ALL buffs, and then he gets to go again. Next, if you somehow do more than 10k -13k (depending on difficulty) in 1 attack, HE WILL VANISH THAT CHARACTER NO MATTER WHOSE TURN IT IS EVEN I BURST (This mechanic bullies people who abuse craft spam or relies on a beefed up mage), When it reaches 50% hp, it will start charging an uncancelable craft. He will charge then absorb all adds, gaining 25% attack buff for each adds for 1 turn, unleash a powerfull attack that can almost wipe out everyone (depending on character and buff strength), resummon adds and repeat (this part, he can still cancel all of your buffs and go again but the arts spam cheese stops working). Finally for his last mechanic, when he hits about 10 - 15% hp (pretty sure it's 10%), his turn order icon will change so that he is casting an craft (you see a small charging animation and it will change REGARDLESS of turnorder). This means the next time he gets a turn (which if you are unlucky it could be the very next turn), he will erase the world ... he will vanish all of your characters including your backup ... setting your hp, ep, and cp to 0 ... effectively full wiping (and this CAN NOT be blocked or negated). It's essentially a dps check and a party wipe (Oh, he will still vanish you at this time if you still hit him to hard ... doesn't matter he is almost dead) ... fun huh. In the end, I'm glad that you didn't struggle to much on this one. I have seen people get unlucky and spent Hours trying to beat it especially in higher difficulty because this boss actually has mechanic and can punish you for most basic stats and habits that people develop since these games arnt normally hard. Like I've seen someone looped phase 1 for over 7 times cause he/she keep going for the boss on turbo mode and played without thinking.

Well - That seems like a "rich" banquet for sure. This will indeed generate some goodwill with the citizens. A bath with lady's talk. I think everyone was expecting Aurelia would not approve, but it's the opposite. She just stirred up the fire even more. It would not surprise me if she enjoyed every second of it. So - We learned some more about Vita and Emma. It was the Elder that created Grianos and Celine. I was always wondering where familiars came from, but it seems they are entities created with magic. That Elder must be more powerful than Vita or Emma then. I wonder if we will ever meet her (yes, you may speculate, but I keep my mouth locked)... Well done with those fights. We now have some serious power. Still - We needed two instructors to beat Aurelia on her own. That woman is indeed a fearful powerhouse. Off to a ocean port city we go. How will Ordis looks like? And will we visit Musse's home? And for that - We going to see where Ash is from too - Yes?
